AI-augmented Developer

Mr. TukTuk is a young, dynamic Thai street food brand in Vietnam, with 3 locations at large shopping centers in Hanoi. The aim of Mr. TukTuk is to grow into a food chain with dozens of locations across Vietnam.

Besides some internal applications to be developed, we're also running a broader internal project — an AI-driven operating system we use to run marketing, dev, finance, and ops across the business. That's the primary thing you'd help with day to day.

You'll report directly to the CTO (me, writing this, because I'm the sole technical guy). Also I need a technical person, not a vibecoder.

This is a Junior level position. Expected pay range to be 6-12 mil.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside me and AI coding agents (Claude Code and similar) to plan, build, review, and ship real software - you're the technical judgment in the loop, not just someone prompting a model and copy-pasting the output
• Read and reason about code, data models, and architecture well enough to catch when the AI is wrong, cutting corners, or about to do something risky (bad migration, security hole, silent data loss)
• Own the boring-but-critical parts: git hygiene, code review, deploys, environment/secrets handling, basic infra upkeep
• Help set direction on how we use AI in the build process - what to delegate to it, what needs a human to double-check, where it keeps failing
• Engineering work for Mr. TukTuk's own systems (the ordering app, POS, internal dashboards)

Requirements

• Real technical background — CS degree, bootcamp + solid production experience, or equivalent self-taught depth. You should be able to explain why code works, not just that it does
• Comfortable with git, basic devops (deployments, servers, env config), and reading a codebase you didn't write
• Already using, or genuinely willing to get fluent in, AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) — but as a tool you direct and verify, not something you blindly trust
• Able to say "no, that's wrong" to an AI's output and explain why. And probably to me if I ever get something wrong

I'm yet to be an expert, but I'll try to pass on my knowledge to use. I ran a dev agency for a couple of years serving 70+ international clients.

Take it easy. It's a very relaxing environment, mostly remote/async - face time is only needed occasionally for syncing on direction or the odd hands-on issue. Hanoi-based preferred, but open to remote if you're excellent and responsive.
