Research Engineer – Agentic AI for Quality Inspection

We are hiring a Research Engineer to develop innovative Agentic AI solutions for intelligent quality inspection in advanced manufacturing. This role focuses on building AI-powered inspection systems that enable drift monitoring, root cause diagnosis, corrective action recommendations, and autonomous quality decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and integrate AI/ML models and agent modules for inspection drift detection, root cause analysis, and corrective action recommendation.
• Support AI model training, validation, and performance evaluation using inspection data, simulations, and experimental results.
• Contribute to semantic knowledge layers that enable AI agents to store and retrieve inspection knowledge and decision insights.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on simulation, inspection optimisation, and knowledge management.
• Prototype, test, and refine AI solutions for evolving research challenges.
• Document research findings, model performance, validation outcomes, and system architectures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields.
• Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning, including model training, evaluation, and deployment concepts.
• Proficiency in Python with experience applying AI/ML techniques through projects, internships, research, or industry experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Curiosity and willingness to explore emerging AI technologies and research challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar AI/ML frameworks .
• Familiarity with Agentic AI, LLM frameworks (LangChain/LangGraph) , and multi-agent orchestration.
• Exposure to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) , vector databases, or knowledge representation.
• Background in computer vision, signal processing, ultrasonic NDE, or manufacturing quality inspection is advantageous.
