Key Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, test, and maintain robust, scalable batch and real-time ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from diverse transactional systems, third-party APIs, and databases into the central Data Platform.
• Data Architecture & Infrastructure: Architect and optimize high-performance Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Data Marts on Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/GCP) to support scaling data volume and downstream analytics requirements.
• Data Quality & Governance: Implement frameworks for automated data quality checking, monitoring, error handling, data lineage, and data security/privacy controls.
• Collaboration & Integration: Work closely with Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts, and Software Engineers to understand data structures, schema requirements, and support seamless integration with application services.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize query performance, database schemas, database indexing, and pipeline execution cost/time across cloud engines (e.g., AWS Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL).
• System Reliability: Monitor operational data workloads, troubleshoot pipeline failures, perform system audits, and ensure target SLAs for data availability.

Key Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 2 - 5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect, or in a similar technical role in data infrastructure.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related quantitative fields.
• Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in Python or Scala for building data pipelines and processing frameworks.
• Database & Querying: Expert in SQL and deep experience working with transactional (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and analytical databases (AWS Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Data Modeling: Solid experience in dimensional data modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and data lake architecture.
• Orchestration & Workflow Tools: Practical experience with workflow orchestrators such as Apache Airflow , Prefect, or Dagster.
• Data Transformation & Processing: Proficiency in data processing frameworks (Spark, PySpark) and transformation tools like dbt (Data Build Tool) .
• DevOps & Cloud Capabilities: Hands-on experience with Version Control (Git), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure on AWS/GCP.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in Streaming Data Architectures using Apache Kafka , RabbitMQ, or AWS Kinesis.
• Knowledge of build/deployment automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Understanding of Data Security, PII handling, and encryption standards in FinTech.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for pipeline automation or code optimization.
