Assistant Chief Engineer – Job Summary

The Assistant Chief Engineer supports the Chief Engineer in managing all engineering operations to ensure the hotel's facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained safely, efficiently, and in excellent working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing daily engineering operations and act on their behalf when required.
• Supervise preventive maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire & life safety systems, elevators, kitchen & laundry equipment, swimming pool, and general building maintenance.
• Lead and supervise the Engineering team, including scheduling, performance monitoring, daily briefings, and ensuring high grooming and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, occupational health & safety (OH&S), environmental regulations, and emergency procedures.
• Respond promptly to technical issues and emergency situations to minimize operational disruptions.
• Coordinate with other departments to support hotel operations and maintain a safe, comfortable environment for guests and Heartists.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in hotel engineering or facilities management, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, and engineering operations.
• Leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations when required.
