Backend Technical Lead - Enterprise System

Location: Ho Chi Minh City , hybrid working mode.

We are looking for a hands-on Backend Technical Lead to lead the technical design and delivery of a cloud-based financial reconciliation and data platform.

This position is suitable for an experienced backend engineer who has built reliable, large-scale systems and is ready to take ownership of architecture, engineering quality, and team technical direction.

The project primarily uses Python, Django, and AWS . We also welcome strong backend leaders coming from Java, Golang, or similar technology backgrounds who have solid system-design fundamentals and are comfortable working with or transitioning to Python.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable backend services, APIs, and data-processing workflows.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle, from requirements and solution design to deployment and production support.
• Build and evolve a financial reconciliation and data platform using Python, Django, and AWS.
• Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions, implementation plans, and clearly defined engineering tasks.
• Make technical decisions related to scalability, security, reliability, performance, data integrity, and maintainability.
• Lead technical discussions, RFC reviews, code reviews, testing strategies, and production-readiness assessments.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance, pair programming, knowledge sharing, and constructive code reviews.
• Collaborate with product, data, engineering, and business stakeholders across different locations and time zones.
• Use AI-assisted development tools effectively while maintaining strong engineering review and quality-control practices.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with significant experience in backend engineering.
• Previous experience as a Technical Lead, Backend Lead, Lead Engineer, or Senior Engineer with substantial technical ownership.
• Strong hands-on experience with at least one major backend language, such as Python, Java, or Golang.
• Experience with Python and Django is preferred. Candidates with strong backend fundamentals who can work effectively with Python will also be considered.
• Proven experience designing and delivering scalable, production-grade enterprise applications or data-intensive platforms.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, API design, microservices, distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architecture.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience with messaging or event-streaming technologies such as SQS, SNS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent systems.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, data modelling, transaction handling, performance optimisation, and data integrity.
• Experience with production monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and reliability improvement.
• Experience leading technical design, code reviews, testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Ability to work closely with stakeholders and take a product or major feature from requirements through production.
• Strong communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain hands-on while providing technical direction and mentoring other engineers.
• Experience using AI development assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools, with appropriate review of AI-generated output.
