Job Description

Attend development builds as required under direction of Operations Engineering Directly Responsible Individual (DRI).

Provide guidance and resources to contract manufacturing (CM) partner engineers.

Develop the organizational skills and disciplines to perform DFx, process and test development, project management, and problem-solving expertise.

Evaluate and implement cost optimization designs while driving alignment with the Design Engineering team.

Provide technical support for failure analysis and root cause investigation of product failures, tracking performance throughout.

Initiate, lead, and drive activities pertaining to lean manufacturing, cycle time, and process improvements.

Interface with Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) subcontractor and manage technical aspects of Volume Manufacturing builds including rework processes, with direction as necessary from Operations Engineering DRI.

Ensure PCBA Subcontractors/JDM partner adherence to Process Parameters and Procedures and approved Manufacturing and Test processes. Ensure maintenance of specified quality levels at PCBA Manufacture.

Evidence of delivering improvements in SMT efficiency, quality, cost reduction, etc.
Required Qualifications

University graduated (BS/MS) with technical background (EE/ ME) or related degrees.

6-7+ years of work experience at manufacturing site for SMT process for consumer electronics products.

Familiar with SMT, reflow oven, underfill, waterproof, tooling, fixtures, solder deposition and other applicable manufacturing processes.

Familiar with the PCBA rework process, BGA rework machine, paste dispensing process, reballing process. The ability to lead rework for BGA with underfill, hands-on experience in BGA rework is a plus.

Familiar with SMT processes, e.g. solder paste printing, surface mounting, SPI, AOI, SMT reflow, underfill, etc.

Familiar with SMT fixtures & stencil design, including SMT carrier, router fixtures, wave soldering fixture, special nozzle design, etc.

Design for manufacturability experience with a proven track record of delivering improvements in efficiency, quality, and product launch predictability.

Design for manufacturability experience from early proto stage to volume manufacturing and sustaining.

Quality control (SPC, QC 7 tools) and 6 Sigma knowledge is a plus.

Experience troubleshooting to PCB design/SMT process.

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally across a range of technical disciplines with a broad slate of stakeholders, including management, peers, customers, and suppliers.

Good team player and able to work with multiple functional groups.

Strong oral and written communication in English.

Willing to travel to different cities (in same country) for work.
