About This Role

• As Engineering Lead at Skylink Labs, you will own backend systems and AI product development while leading and mentoring a team of engineers and shaping the company’s technical direction. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and QA teams to deliver scalable, production-grade AI applications. You’ll drive architecture decisions, ensure system reliability and performance, and integrate cutting-edge AI/LLM capabilities—using platforms like OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or AWS Bedrock—into real-world products. This role sits at the intersection of deep technical expertise, cloud-native engineering (GCP), and hands-on technical leadership in a fast-paced startup environment.
  
  

What we're looking for

Experience (Must-Have)

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.
• Experience working in startup, scale-up, or product-focused environments.
• Strong hands-on engineering mindset.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience building and maintaining production backend systems.
• Solid understanding of API design, system design, performance optimization, scalability, and software development best practices.
  
  

Cloud Platform

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
  
  

AI / LLM Experience

• Experience integrating AI/LLM services into real-world products.
• Familiarity with platforms such as OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, AWS Bedrock, or equivalent solutions.
  
  

Leadership & Communication

• Ability to mentor team members and support technical growth.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  
  

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Firebase services (Auth, FCM, Analytics).
• Experience with BigQuery or analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of Flutter, React Native, or mobile application architecture.
• Knowledge of QA processes, testing strategies, and release management.
• Experience building consumer-facing mobile applications.
• Familiarity with MLOps, AI workflow automation, or AI agent frameworks.
• Experience using AI tools to improve software development productivity.
