Engineering Manager - Platform & Infrastructure

Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager - Platform & Infrastructure to lead a team responsible for building and maintaining the internal platforms, automation frameworks, and development infrastructure that power a global engineering organization.

This role sits at the intersection of Engineering Leadership, DevOps/SRE, Platform Engineering, and Systems Architecture. You will be responsible for driving technical strategy, promoting automation-first practices, and enabling engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership
* Define and drive the roadmap for CI/CD, platform engineering, and infrastructure automation.
* Align technical initiatives with business objectives and future scalability requirements.
* Identify opportunities to improve engineering efficiency through automation and standardization.

Team Leadership & Talent Development
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of System Development Engineers.
* Foster a culture of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
* Support career growth, performance management, and team engagement.

Platform Engineering & Developer Enablement
* Own the strategy and evolution of internal platforms, tools, APIs, and engineering services.
* Deliver self-service capabilities that improve developer productivity and user experience.
* Establish engineering standards and best practices across the organization.

Reliability & Operational Excellence
* Ensure the availability, scalability, and resilience of engineering infrastructure and distributed systems.
* Lead incident response, escalation management, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities.
* Drive sustainable improvements that eliminate recurring operational issues.

Observability & Governance
* Define and implement monitoring, logging, telemetry, and observability standards.
* Leverage operational insights to improve system performance and reliability.
* Establish measurable service health indicators and operational metrics.

Security & Compliance
* Ensure platforms and infrastructure adhere to enterprise security standards and cybersecurity best practices.
* Embed security-by-design principles throughout development and deployment processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Partner with software, cloud, hardware, and embedded engineering teams to ensure successful product delivery.
* Collaborate with global stakeholders to align priorities, resources, and technical direction.

Qualifications

Experience
* 8+ years of experience in System Development, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or related areas.
* 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams in a formal management capacity.
* Demonstrated success delivering large-scale automation, platform engineering, or infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Technical Expertise
* Strong understanding of Linux, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP/3), and distributed/cloud-native architectures.
* Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
* Strong understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines and deployment orchestration.
* Ability to provide technical guidance across languages such as Python, Go, C++, and scripting environments.
