JOB DESCRIPTION

Develop, maintain, and test firmware for embedded systems and IoT devices.
-
Work with microcontrollers and embedded platforms such as ESP32, STM32, Nordic nRF, or similar.
-
Interface with common embedded peripherals and modules using UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, ADC, PWM, and interrupts.
-
Read and analyze circuit schematics, component datasheets, reference designs, and hardware specifications.
-
Support hardware bring-up, board testing, and debugging of embedded circuits.
-
Assist in PCB design review, pin mapping, signal routing checks, and hardware validation.
-
Test and debug embedded systems using tools such as a multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power supply, and soldering tools.
-
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and software teams to deliver complete embedded products.
-
Document test results, hardware issues, firmware behavior, and debugging procedures.
-
Support product improvement related to stability, power consumption, signal quality, and manufacturability.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Embedded Firmware Engineering
-
Programming Skills: Proficient in C/C++ specifically optimized for resource-constrained embedded systems.
-
Microcontrollers (MCUs): Hands-on experience with popular architectures such as ESP32, STM32, Nordic nRF, AVR, or PIC.

Hardware Peripherals: Strong command of configuring and interfacing low-level peripherals:
-
Communication Protocols: UART, SPI, I2C.
-
Core Peripherals: GPIO, ADC, PWM, Timers, and Interrupts.
-
Documentation Literacy: Ability to efficiently read, interpret, and extract technical details from MCU datasheets, reference manuals, and pinout tables.
-
Development Workflow: Solid experience with standard firmware workflows, including building, flashing, logging, and hardware-in-the-loop debugging.
-
System Optimization: Deep understanding of real-time embedded constraints, including memory footprint management, timing behavior, and low-power modes.
-
Wireless Connectivity (Preferred): Familiarity with at least one wireless stack is a strong plus:
-
Short-range/Mesh: BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Matter.
-
Long-range: LoRa.
-
Version Control: Basic proficiency with Git/GitHub (branching, pull requests, resolving merge conflicts, and versioning best practices).
2. Hardware & PCB Design
-
Circuit Theory & Schematics: Strong foundational knowledge of electronics. Proven ability to analyze complex electronic circuit schematics and PCB layouts.

Component Selection: Deep understanding of active and passive components, including resistors, capacitors (decoupling), diodes, transistors/MOSFETs, voltage regulators, crystals, connectors, sensors, and battery charging circuits.

Hardware Fundamentals: Solid grasp of voltage levels, logic thresholds, pull-up/pull-down configurations, signal integrity basics, grounding topologies, and power distribution networks (PDN).

ECAD Tools: Familiarity with at least one major PCB design software: KiCad, EasyEDA, Altium Designer, or Proteus.

PCB Design Principles: Basic understanding of layout best practices:

Component placement strategy and connector orientation.
-
Power routing vs. signal routing isolation.
-
Proper placement of decoupling capacitors and ground planes.
-
Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Testing (DFT).
3. Prototyping, Bring-up & Lab Tools
-
Prototyping Skills: Practical experience in circuit prototyping, breadboarding, manual soldering (THT/SMD), wiring, and mechanical assembly of hardware prototypes.

Lab Equipment Proficiency: Competency in using electronic diagnostic and measurement tools for hardware validation and debugging:
-
Digital Multimeter (DMM) & Oscilloscope.
-
Logic Analyzer & Programmable DC Power Supply.
-
Soldering Station / Hot Air Rework Station.
-
Hardware Bring-up: Ability to systematically execute PCB bring-up, run hardware-level debugging, and perform initial prototype validation to ensure hardware-firmware alignment.
