Frontend Developer (ReactJS)

We are looking for a Fullstack Engineer, ReactJS to join our exciting team. The successful candidate will work on technology solutions in the banking and financial services domain, focusing on building scalable, secure, and user-friendly applications.

This role will be part of an innovation-focused engineering team, working on modern technology topics such as generative AI, digital banking, open banking, digital assets, climate innovation, and new forms of payments. The engineer will help develop small-scale, time-bound production incubations by leveraging existing technology platforms and components.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, review, implement, and maintain React.js application code and related services for production and pre-release environments.
• Participate in Agile software development, prototyping, and code review with international development teams.
• Build scalable, maintainable, and secure microservices-based products.
• Understand business and customer requirements, then translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Work closely with delivery teams to support successful development using CI/CD and DevOps practices, processes, and tools.
• Apply robust coding practices, unit/component testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Make architectural and code-level decisions for assigned components, based on provided high-level solution architecture.
• Conduct peer code reviews and provide constructive recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with technology leaders and team members to improve technical direction and delivery quality.
• Fulfil other tasks as assigned by the People Leader and/or authorized representative from time to time.

Job Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you have:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Software Development / Fullstack Engineering.
• Solid experience with JavaScript ES6 / TypeScript .
• Strong hands-on experience with React.js or similar front-end technologies such as Angular.js or Vue.js.
• Strong foundation in Computer Science, especially in building scalable and maintainable systems.
• Good knowledge of web development technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Foundation, jQuery, and JSON .
• Good understanding of web accessibility, security concerns, and responsive design.
• Ability to design React applications using layout management.
• Experience with developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines to deploy artefacts.
• Ability to build BFF components using Node.js .
• Experience with cloud computing, preferably Amazon Web Services, AWS .
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design ; GraphQL experience is a plus.
• Good understanding of microservices-based systems.
• Strong understanding of standard Software Engineering processes, Testing, and Agile methodology.
• Ability to write structured, well-documented, maintainable, and clean code.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, especially in a global software development environment.
• Experience with front-end testing tools and test runners such as Selenium, Mocha, Chai, or Jest.

Nice to Have

• Experience in backend development with Java 8+ .
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience in complex microservices-based systems, including troubleshooting and debugging.
• Experience working in the banking, financial services, fintech, or digital payment domain.
