Mechanical Machine Design Engineer

Job Description

Machine Design (Factory Automation)

• Design machines, mechanical systems, and automation equipment for factory automation projects.
• Develop innovative mechanical concepts and transform them into practical design solutions.
• Modify and optimize existing machine designs to meet customer requirements while ensuring quality, safety, and manufacturability.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools.
• Select standard components and prepare Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Collaborate closely with Electrical, Software, and Manufacturing teams throughout the development process.
• Support prototype assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and design improvements.

Mechanical Product Development

• Analyze customer requirements and translate them into mechanical design specifications.
• Develop mechanical products from concept through detailed design and release.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, Engineering Change Requests (ECR), and related technical documents.
• Perform design verification and support product validation activities.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, quality requirements, and manufacturing constraints.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on schedule.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design for automation or product development.
• Proficient in 3D and 2D CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD).
• Good understanding of:
• Machine design
• Manufacturing and machining processes
• Material selection
• Heat treatment and surface treatment
• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Basic understanding of PLC logic and automation system architecture.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and result-oriented.
• Good teamwork, discipline, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with standard mechanical components from suppliers such as MISUMI, THK, SMC, HIWIN, Festo, or similar.
• Experience in mechanism simulation or motion analysis using CAD software.
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, and FMEA is an advantage.
• Ability to communicate in Japanese or Chinese is an advantage.
• Experience in factory automation or industrial equipment development is preferred.
