Mid Full-Stack Developer (Java)

We're looking for a Mid-level Full-Stack Developer to help build our internal software platform - a staff workspace integrated with our CRM, financial calculators, workflow automation, and client/accountant portals.

Our engineering team move fast using AI-assisted development tools. You'll work directly with the founders and engineering lead with fast feedback, fast decisions.

Scope of Work

You will be our first dedicated developer in Vietnam, building products used daily by our Australian staff, our clients and their accountants. The split is roughly 70% backend, 30% frontend .

• Backend (70%): build and extend REST APIs and services in Spring Boot (our codebase is Kotlin on Spring Boot; Java is fine, and strong backend developers from other stacks can cross over), PostgreSQL, and integrations with third-party APIs (CRM, email, documents).
• Frontend (30%): build and polish staff-facing, client-facing and accountant-facing surfaces (our app is React/Next.js; experience in any modern frontend framework transfers).
• Ship a complete, working product within your first 2 months, working side by side with our product analyst who writes the requirements. You are expected to question requirements that do not make sense, not just implement them.
• Work AI-first: we develop with tools like Claude Code daily. Experience with them is a plus; genuine willingness to adopt them is required.
• Push code continuously: staff use what you ship the same week and give feedback directly. We hold a high bar - small scope, polished, low-bug.

Skills and Experience:

Must have

• 5+ years of experience in Java Full Stack development
• Strong experience with Java/ Kotlin with Spring Boot for back-end development
• Solid REST API design and SQL with any relational database (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL - we run PostgreSQL, but the specific engine is easy to pick up).
• Comfort doing frontend work in any modern framework (React, Vue, Angular or similar)
• Git, code review habits, and the ability to test and verify your own work.
• Proficiency in English, sufficient for business discussions, technical meetings, and documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services (Banking or insurance) digital channel development
• Experience handling high-traffic systems or global service platforms
• Experience in using React and Next.js (App Router) with TypeScript.
• Experience with Spring Boot data-access depth: JPA/Hibernate, or SQL-first tooling such as jOOQ (which we use).
• Experience with Microservices Architecture and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps environments
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Codex or similar).
