Job description

As a Middle/Senior Frontend Engineer on our team, you will:

• Communicate directly with Product Managers to clarify requirements and edge cases
• Build frontend features in our Next.js (App Router) monorepo, following our shared architecture, workspace tiering, and design-token conventions
• Partner with the Design team to implement UI/UX faithfully using our internal design system, including density and device-mode variants
• Partner with QA to define testable behavior — data-testid conventions, unit tests (Vitest), and E2E coverage (Playwright)
• Integrate with backend services via our BFF/route-handler layer, including SSE-based streaming for AI features
• Collaborate with the team to analyze product needs and propose technical solutions, including trade-offs and risks
• Work within agile/scrum processes and deliver on schedule at an acceptable quality bar
• Write clear technical documentation for features, decisions, and non-obvious implementation choices
• Track, analyze, and resolve production issues, including working with error-tracking tooling
• Be a team player — put the team ahead of yourself and stay adaptable as priorities shift

Your skills and experience

Must have:

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Frontend Engineer
• Strong experience with React and Next.js (App Router), including SSR/CSR trade-offs
• Proficient in TypeScript for day-to-day development, not just typed function signatures
• Experience with a modern state-management approach (Zustand, Jotai, Redux, or equivalent) and a data-fetching/cache library (React Query/TanStack Query or equivalent)
• Solid CSS fundamentals and experience with a utility-first framework (Tailwind CSS) and/or component libraries (shadcn/ui or similar)
• Comfortable with Git in a team workflow (feature branches, PR review, rebasing)
• Strong fundamentals in HTML5, CSS, and modern JavaScript/ES202x
• Writes structured, well-documented, maintainable, and testable code

It’s nice to have

• Experience working inside a monorepo (Turborepo, Nx, or similar) with bun/pnpm/yarn workspaces
• Experience with automated testing: Vitest/Jest for unit tests, Playwright/Cypress for E2E
• Experience consuming or building a design-token pipeline (Style Dictionary or similar) and theming with CSS custom properties
• Experience with feature flags in production (e.g. Firebase Remote Config, LaunchDarkly)
• Experience with headless CMS integration
• Comfortable using AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) as part of daily workflow
• Familiar with Jira for task management
• Good understanding of networking/internetworking protocols (HTTP caching, WebSockets/SSE)
• Passionate about applying best practices and raising the bar on code quality across the team
