Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Make Ready Engineer (MRE) Joint Use Specialist who combines technical precision with a collaborative spirit. This role involves working closely with engineers, technicians, and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.


Responsibilities of the role:

• Ensure field walkouts of OSP network infrastructure in accordance with industry standards and regulations.

• Determine optimal routing for OSP networks, considering factors such as existing infrastructure, terrain, and accessibility.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and timelines.

• Participate in project planning meetings to understand project scope and objectives.

• Create project documentation, including design plans, cost estimates, and project schedules.

• Identify potential design issues and propose solutions to ensure network reliability.

• Review and approve designs created by other designers and contractors.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and regulations related to OSP design.


Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in engineering, telecommunications, or related field.

• Understanding of NESC Standards.

• 4+ years of experience in OSP design, with a focus on fiber optic and copper networks.

• Knowledge of Make Ready Engineering, PLA and industry standards and regulations related to OSP design.


Preferred Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Software & Tools:

• Proficient in 3GIS, AGOL, Katapult, O’calc or other GIS based software.


Schedule:

Full-time Monday-Friday, plus overtime.
