JOB OVERVIEW

This role is responsible for managing and executing offshore process engineering activities related to golf ball manufacturing. Serving as the engineering lead for third-party suppliers, the position drives process optimization, quality enhancement, and cost improvement initiatives while fostering strong supplier partnerships and developing offshore technical teams.

The role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver timely and effective solutions that improve product quality, reduce costs, and enhance manufacturing efficiency. Additionally, it has direct supervisory responsibility for process engineers and technicians, overseeing offshore process development, product and process cost reduction projects, and the successful transition of new processes to manufacturing operations. The position also ensures the accuracy and maintenance of technical data, standards, and documentation.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Optimization and support of existing manufacturing processes at third-party manufacturing locations
  • Drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through the optimization of existing processes and the development of new, revolutionary processes
  • Lead process qualifications at manufacturing locations
  • Effectively collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing teams and suppliers, fostering positive relationships and good communication
  • Support gross margin initiatives via productivity improvements, process improvements, and impactful cost savings programs
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining process specifications
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining product specifications for off-shore manufacturing locations
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining manufacturing instructions
  • Provide input to finance relating to product costs
  • Works with outside suppliers for process development and qualification
  • Conducts process capability studies and process audits
  • Liaison between the domestic and off-shore engineering and quality teams
  • Support quality initiatives and defect reduction via best practices and SPC methodology
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures where applicable
  • Provide general technical support to subsidiary and 3rd party manufacturing sites
  • Maintain documentation related to new process development, production pilots, legal
  • Acts in a supervisory role overseeing Process Engineers and Engineering Technicians to include coaching, training, performance reviews and disciplinary action when required. This may also extend to other off-shore technical personnel, including those on the quality team
  • Works towards improvements for process efficiencies
  • Work in a safe manner following all PPE and standardized processes
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor


TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Ability to communicate fluently, both written and verbally, in English
  • Proficient in MS Office products, MS Project, and statistical analysis programs
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies preferred
  • Knowledge of DOE’s statistical methods and analysis preferred


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Physical Sciences
  • Minimum 4 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Six Sigma certification preferred
