PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER (PDE - High performance connectors)

Location: Thang Long II IP, Hung Yen (Daily Bus from Hanoi, Hai Duong & Bac Ninh)

Reports to: Expatriate PDE Supervisor

Today, we are expanding with a new high-tech facility in Thang Long II Industrial Park, Hung Yen, backed by a $145 million investment and spanning 100,000 m². This state-of-the-art site will produce advanced products, including high-speed connectors, cables, and optical devices.


About the role

We are looking for a Product Development Engineer (Launch) to drive the design and development of high-speed cable assemblies , ensuring smooth product launch and close collaboration between Design Center and Manufacturing.


Key Responsibilities

1. New Product Development & Launch

  • Support development and industrialization of IO External cable products
  • Review product concepts with manufacturing team and assess feasibility/capability
  • Conduct technical analysis (POC, failure analysis) and propose solutions
  • Drive activities related to FOT, FSV, DVP&R testing
  • Partner with Process Engineering to ensure product quality and design intent
  • Act as the bridge between Design Center and Manufacturing to remove barriers

2. Sustaining Engineering

  • Support products in mass production and launch phase
  • Investigate and resolve customer quality issues to ensure product reliability
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and yield improvement
  • Implement product modifications and extensions to expand market opportunities
  • Collaborate with local and global suppliers for product development

3. Execution Excellence

  • Support design and execution of new products to achieve faster time-to-market

· Perform other tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Preferred: Mechanical Design / Manufacturing Engineering

Experience

  • ~4 years of experience in product design & development
  • Preferred: Experience in connectors or cable assemblies


Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge in:

  • Plastic & sheet metal manufacturing
  • PCB integration & soldering
  • DFMEA, DFM

Good problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred: English proficiency

  • Mandarin is a plus
