JOB DESCRIPTION

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 year of experience with software programming in C++, Java, Python or Go.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Mobile app, web, full-stack or backend development experience.
- Experience building systems that scale to millions of users globally.
- Experience working on DevAI for Agentic coding and productivity.

Operating at an unprecedented scale, our Singapore-based team is the engine behind the growth and communications (comms) platforms. Our Comms infrastructure powers the high-throughput messaging systems required to reliably engage hundreds of millions of users. Simultaneously, under Growth, we own high-volume user acquisition channels including our core referral and reward engines that drive massive-scale traffic and generate multi-million dollar business streams.
In this role, you will lead the technical execution of growth initiatives to scale our user base. You will have true ownership of the full feature lifecycle, building solutions that span entirely from robust backend systems to seamless frontend UI components, leveraging agentic workflows and DevAI tools to accelerate delivery and productivity.
Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.
Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of feature design and deployment, operating seamlessly across the stack from backend infrastructure to frontend mobile and web ecosystems.
- Mentor junior engineers on reliable, scalable, and secure designs.
- Lead technical designs for robust backend services and data processing pipelines that support massive-scale growth experiments.
- Ensure long-term feature reliability by building comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and automated performance tracking.
- Contribute to engineering excellence by participating in design reviews, improving code quality, and leveraging DevAI and agentic coding workflows to accelerate end-to-end development.
