Senior - Software Engineer, Java, Donation

We're looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering problems and building scalable, reliable backend systems. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and Tech Leads to design, implement, and continuously improve services that power our products.

You'll be expected to take ownership of your work, make sound technical decisions, and contribute to improving our engineering standards and system architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable backend services and distributed systems.
• Proactively identify system issues, technical risks, and performance bottlenecks, then drive solutions from design to implementation.
• Design and improve backend architecture with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Own feature delivery, including technical planning, workload estimation, and execution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while continuously improving system stability.
• Mentor junior and middle engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in Java (experience with or willingness to work with Golang or Kotlin is a plus).
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including OOP, data structures, algorithms, SOLID principles, and Clean Code.
• Strong experience designing and building Microservices and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
• Experience with Kafka, Redis, or RabbitMQ.
• Strong knowledge of database design, SQL, and query optimization with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ownership, and the ability to work independently.
• Experience mentoring engineers and performing code reviews.
• Familiarity with AI development tools to improve engineering productivity.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing high-availability and high-performance systems.
• Experience with concurrency, multithreading, or network programming (TCP/UDP/WebSocket).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure cost and system performance.
