Role Description The Senior/Middle Backend Java Developer will design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for enterprise-level applications. Responsibilities include developing clean, efficient Java code, integrating with databases and third-party services, and optimizing application performance and reliability. The role involves collaborating closely with frontend engineers, QA, and product teams to refine requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver secure, maintainable solutions. The developer will also participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and help improve development processes and documentation. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java backend development, including experience with frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot and RESTful API design.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and experience with ORM tools and efficient query design.
• Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns, including microservices, modular design, and best practices for scalable systems.
• Experience with build and deployment tools (e.g., Maven/Gradle), and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• Understanding of application security, performance tuning, and monitoring for high-availability backend services.
• Ability to write clean, testable code and work with unit, integration, and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate in cross-functional, on-site teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Previous experience in senior or mid-level backend roles, ideally within international or technology-focused organizations.
• Comfort working in a multicultural environment; English fluency required, additional languages are an advantage.

• Good knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms
• Expertise in SQL / NoSQL Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Microservices
• Familiarity with Redis, Kafka
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and Cloud Infrastructure is a plus
• Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
