JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Role

We seek a senior technology leader for a CTIO or Director role at Nanosun Pte. Ltd., operating at the intersection of advanced environmental engineering, AI, corporate finance, and strategic growth.

You will lead cross-functional teams and shape roadmaps driving scalable innovations across industrial wastewater, 3D-printed advanced materials, and AI-driven industrial portfolios. A core mandate is addressing the AI boom's water-energy nexus: translating complex cooling requirements into structured, bankable Water-as-a-Service programs for hyperscale data centers. You will link rigorous engineering with commercial outcomes, scaling our infrastructure and recurring revenue models to support a multi-million dollar valuation roadmap.

  • Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Technology Governance

  • Shape Technology Roadmaps: Execute long-term strategies for industrial wastewater, ultrapure water (UPW), 3D-printed materials, and applied AI platforms.
  • Target the AI Water-Energy Nexus: Spearhead data center expansion. Govern proprietary solutions for direct-to-chip, closed-loop, and immersion cooling to help hyperscalers radically reduce WUE and PUE.
  • Drive Digital Innovation: Champion AI, digital twins, and automated controls across high-tech sectors (semiconductors, data centers, breweries, specialty chemicals).
  • Regional AI Oversight: Direct cross-border operations across key markets (Taiwan, China), managing advanced control specialists and enforcing centralized documentation standards.

Investment Structuring & Commercial Execution

  • Data Center Commercialization: Structure long-term commercial agreements with cloud providers, positioning Nanosun's water recycling and UPW capabilities as critical operational infrastructure.
  • Financial Optimization: Drive CAPEX and OPEX optimization. Leverage predictive AI to ensure cost efficiency and scalable solution design.
  • Risk & IP Management: Conduct technical due diligence on deep-tech investments. Implement risk frameworks and enforce strict IP protection for proprietary AI, cooling technologies, and 3D IP.

  • Engineering, AI & Operations Oversight
  • Systems Development: Oversee design of advanced wastewater, water reuse, and UPW plants engineered specifically to prevent scaling and corrosion in high-density AI cooling hardware.
  • Platform Commercialization: Spearhead commercialization of 3D printing for the water business (e.g., advanced membranes, cooling manifolds) alongside proprietary AI software.
  • Analytical Discipline: Enforce strict analytical discipline and data governance across pilot programs, AI model training, and full-scale industrial deployments.

  • Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Academics: MSc or Ph.D. in Environmental/Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science/AI, or related field from a Tier-1 university (US, UK, or China).
  • Experience: 5–10 years of progressive leadership in industrial tech, advanced materials, and digital/AI integration within the water or high-tech sectors.
  • Industry Exposure: Proven project delivery in data centers, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, or specialty chemicals.

  • Core Competencies
  • Infrastructure & Cooling: Deep expertise in UPW requirements, closed-loop cooling architectures, and the operational demands of high-density computing environments.
  • Applied AI: Proven ability to establish digital/AI units, deploy machine learning, or integrate advanced control specialists regionally.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong grasp of project finance, commercial viability, and cost engineering (CAPEX/OPEX) for hardware and software deployments.
  • Communication: Exceptional skill translating dense engineering and AI concepts into clear business cases for executive, financial, and hyperscale tech audiences
