JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose

A senior cross-entity role owning three connected areas: development of FMPMS and TSMC students’ creative portfolios toward top-tier overseas destinations; teaching across TSMC’s music production and technology modules; and business development spanning partnership work and student recruitment.

The postholder brings direct, first-hand experience of admission to and study at leading global music technology programmes, together with an established network across the Mandopop industry, and applies both to our pathway offering and the group’s partnership development. Production and artist activity is carried out on an ad hoc basis as required.

Scope 1 - Creative Pathways & Student Portfolio Development (ACA High School)

  • Design and own ACA’s Creative Portfolio Programme: structured development of each student’s audition, portfolio, and application materials across the 14–18 years arc.
  • Map portfolio requirements against top-destination institutions (e.g. Berklee, USC Thornton, NYU Clive Davis, Michigan PAT, Stanford MST/CCRMA, CalArts; regionally YST, UAS, etc).
  • Mentor students on artistic direction, prescreen and audition material, artist statements, and interview preparation.
  • Oversee in-house recording and production of student portfolio submissions to a submission-ready standard.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with admissions contacts at destination institutions.
  • Track and report student destination outcomes as an institutional performance measure.

Scope 2 - Teaching (TSMC)

  • Deliver production, arrangement, and music technology modules across TSMC’s programmes.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and module review for production and technology modules.
  • Deliver masterclasses and guest sessions that support recruitment and partner activity.

Scope 3 - Business Development & Recruitment

Partnerships and industry

  • Represent the group at industry events, education fairs, and partner meetings
  • Activate existing Mandopop industry relationships for guest sessions, masterclasses, showcase collaborations, and student placement opportunities.
  • Support international partnership development, including the China programme partnerships.
  • Lead the pathway-outcomes narrative in parent-facing and partner-facing recruitment.

Recruitment funnel

  • Own lead generation campaigns across Meta and other paid channels, including creative direction, copy, and audience targeting.
  • Own lead nurturing across email (ActiveCampaign), WhatsApp, and Telegram through to enrolment conversion.
  • Improve funnel conversion at each stage, with lead-form completion rate and lead-to-enrolment rate as primary measures.
  • Produce campaign and organic content in-house, appearing on camera where useful.
  • Report funnel performance and cost per enrolled student monthly.

Scope 4 - Production & Artist Activity (Ad hoc, as required)

  • Original music writing, recording, and release under the group’s association.
  • Production and technical direction for school showcases, releases, and marketing assets.
  • Public representation of the group as an artist across industry and media.

First 12 Months - Indicative Deliverables

  • Creative Portfolio Programme designed, mapped to destination requirements, and approved by the Academic Board.
  • Portfolio pathway integrated into the ACA parent-facing proposition and admissions collateral.
  • TSMC teaching load established across assigned modules.
  • Named admissions contacts established at a defined set of destination institutions.
  • Lead-form completion rate lifted toward sector benchmark, with cost per enrolled student established as a tracked metric.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate qualification in music technology or a closely related field from a leading institution.
  • Direct experience of the audition and portfolio admissions process at top-tier music/music-technology programmes.
  • Established industry network across the Mandopop ecosystem
  • - label, publishing, artist management, and production contacts in Taiwan, Singapore, and Greater China.
  • Demonstrated music production capability; a credible catalogue of released works.
  • Teaching and mentoring experience, ideally in a music institutional setting.
  • Working fluency in English and Mandarin, to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking partners, parents, and students.
  • Comfortable public-facing; able to work across brands in a young institution.
  • Prior experience in a startup or founder capacity is desirable.
