JOB DESCRIPTION

This position contributes to Highlands success by providing planning, project coordination in new store or renovation construction projects while maintaining the highest standards of excellence in delivering the Highlands experience in our stores. Supports PM in coordinating the construction execution so that projects are completed on time, on quality and under budget. Models and acts in accordance with Highlands guiding principles.


Key Accountabilities

  • Develops and manages budgets consistentwith timeline requirements for small tomedium-scale new store development orrenovation projects. Develops scope of workconsistent with operation needs and budgetallowances. Oversees project scheduling, bidnegotiations and GC relationships. (15%0
  • • Manages and monitors project scheduleswithin budget guidelines, progress and coststo ensure projects are completed on time andeffectively. Maintains, adjusts and updatesproject plans as needed. Consolidates,communicates and manages all issues andrisks affecting the project. Communicatesproject status to project participants andstakeholders accurately and on time (20%)
  • • Manages the construction phase of thedevelopment process. Prepares possession oftenant spaces according to companyguidelines. Monitors general contractor andvendor performance during construction buildout phase. Maintains established constructionschedules to allow store to open on time.Oversees ordering and tracking of materialsand equipment. Visits job site regularly toperform due diligence and monitor quality.Addresses concerns and maintains consistentfollow-up on any outstanding issues (15%)
  • Coordinate/alignment with the permitting andapproval phase of the store developmentprocess and ensures all proper approvals havebeen received prior to initiated possession orconstruction phase 15%
  • Oversees contractor and vendor performanceduring construction phase through site visitsand report review. Maintains relationships withcross-functional to ensure seamless storeopenings. 15%
  • Support Sr Project Manager in GC prequalifications process and training. Ensurescompany's contract policies are followed. 15%
  • Prepares, communicates and educates clientgroups and team on changes in policies andpractices within the organization. Supportsregional network development team byproviding technical and function training to allmembers. Supports development efforts byworking closely with other departments todetermine more effective processes and tools. 5%
  • Supports Network Development andOperations goals by participating andcontributing in planning and strategy meetingsfor the market. Plans and managesconstruction processes and practices to ensurethat programs are aligned with companybusiness goals and objectives.


Education/ Training Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in related field, BS Construction Engineer / Construction Management from a nationally recognized University, English language is a must


Experience

• Minimum 1 years’ experience as Construction Project Coordinator• Experience in working with a construction team in a multi-unit retail orrestaurant environment (1 years)• Costing and BOQ (1 years)

Knowledge of:

• Knowledge of construction systems• Strong knowledge of commercial evaluation metrics

Knowledge of applicable departmental or business unit practices andrequirements

• Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles andpractices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projectsand activities

• Experience in Budgeting and planning is an advantage• Experience in Cost Analysis & Evaluation is an advantage
