Technical Lead – Core Insurance Applications (Life Asia)

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead – Core Insurance Applications to join our technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technical solutions for Life Insurance Policy Administration Systems, with a strong focus on Life Asia/Life400, application integration, product launches, customer acquisition, and customer servicing.

This role will work closely with Business Product Owners, Delivery Leads, Engineering teams, and business stakeholders to design and implement effective technical solutions. The position will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for core insurance applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of Life Insurance technology solutions and projects.
• Design and deliver solutions involving Life Asia/Life400, underwriting engines, workflow, CCM, middleware, web, and mobile applications.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and practical technical solutions.
• Work closely with Product Owners and Delivery Leads on new product launches, enhancements, customer acquisition, and customer servicing initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT and engineering team members.
• Contribute to Policy Administration System architecture, design, standards, and best practices.
• Oversee technical deliverables for core applications and system integrations.
• Design and support integrations between core policy systems and surrounding applications.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and according to requirements.
• Support environment management, release management, version control, testing, and deployment activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Stay current with developments in the Life Insurance and Financial Services industries.
• Act as a technical SME for core insurance application initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5–7+ years of experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Core Policy Administration Systems, particularly Life Asia/Life400.
• Strong knowledge of Life Insurance Policy Administration processes and functionalities.
• Experience with surrounding insurance applications such as:
• Underwriting Engines
• Sales Portals
• Customer/Front-End Applications
• Mobile Applications
• Workflow Systems
• Customer Communication Management (CCM)
• Strong experience in application integration and omnichannel solutions.
• Knowledge of API, middleware, and system integration.
• Experience with MuleSoft is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of release management, environment management, code versioning, and deployment practices.
• Experience working in Agile / Iterative delivery environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and solution-design skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior team members.
