Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Backend Engineer to take technical ownership of backend systems and lead the engineering team in building scalable, high-performance, and reliable products .

The ideal candidate is a strong backend engineer with experience in system architecture, distributed systems, performance optimization, and technical leadership — someone who can turn complex business requirements into robust production systems and drive engineering excellence across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of large-scale backend systems and services.
• Own technical solutions from architecture and system design to implementation, deployment, and production operation.
• Design and evolve scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Drive the adoption of event-driven and asynchronous architectures to improve system scalability and performance.
• Identify and resolve complex technical problems related to system performance, reliability, concurrency, and scalability.
• Optimize APIs, database queries, and backend services to improve latency, throughput, and resource efficiency.
• Lead integrations with internal and external systems, APIs, and third-party services.
• Conduct code reviews and establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to backend engineers; support the team in solving complex technical challenges.
• Work closely with Product, Mobile, Frontend, Data, DevOps, and other teams to deliver end-to-end product solutions.
• Take ownership of critical production systems and continuously improve their stability, observability, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in backend software development, with strong hands-on experience in Golang, Java, or other backend programming languages.
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead / Technical Lead / Senior Backend Engineer with technical ownership of products or platforms.
• Strong knowledge of backend development, API development, concurrency, and backend architecture.
• Solid experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong understanding of system design, scalability, high availability, and performance optimization.
• Experience designing and operating backend systems serving large user bases or high transaction volumes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions in complex environments.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building high-traffic consumer-facing products or large-scale platforms.
• Experience with real-time systems, asynchronous processing, event-driven pipelines, or distributed transactions.
• Experience integrating with multiple internal/external services or enterprise-scale platforms.
• Experience mentoring engineers and establishing engineering practices across a team.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
