PURPOSE
Lead a combined software engineering and quality assurance function for Group Digital platforms, responsible for application development, CMS delivery, software testing, release quality and production support across regional markets.
The role owns the full SDLC from requirements review, technical solution design, full-stack development, SIT, UAT coordination, regression testing, test automation, release readiness assessment and post-production defect remediation.
This role works closely with UX, business analysts, development teams, QA engineers, DevOps, Information Security, platform owners, local market teams and third-party vendors to deliver secure, scalable and high-quality digital solutions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide technical leadership for digital platform initiatives, change requests, production fixes and regional delivery programmes
Own application development across front-end, back-end, APIs, CMS and integration layers, ensuring solutions meet business, security and operational requirements
Define and govern engineering standards covering technical design, code quality, source control, branching, code review, secure coding and vulnerability remediation
Own end-to-end software testing across requirement validation, test planning, SIT, integration testing, UAT coordination, regression testing, performance testing and security testing
Drive test automation maturity by establishing reusable automated regression suites and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Coordinate UAT with local market business teams, including acceptance criteria, business scenarios, test data preparation, defect triage and sign-off management
Manage release readiness with clear quality metrics, open defect visibility, risk assessment and go/no-go recommendations
Lead L2/L3 production support for application incidents, root cause analysis, permanent fixes and continuous improvement actions
Coach and mentor developers, QA engineers and vendor resources to raise engineering discipline, testing quality and delivery consistency
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related discipline
At least 6 years of hands-on software engineering, application delivery or digital platform experience
At least 6 years leading development, QA, test engineering or cross-functional delivery teams
Proven track record delivering medium to large-scale digital platforms across multiple markets or business units
Experience in full SDLC delivery covering requirements analysis, solution design, development, SIT, UAT, regression, release and production support
Experience coordinating UAT with business stakeholders across geographies, including non-technical users and market business owners
Experience managing vendor, offshore or distributed teams in Agile/Scrum delivery environments
KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS
Modern JavaScript frameworks including ReactJS and NextJS, including SSR and SSG patterns
TypeScript, NodeJS and NestJS for enterprise-grade web and API development
REST API, GraphQL, integration design, database design and system design documentation
Headless CMS, content delivery platforms, design systems and reusable front-end components
Secure coding, source code scanning, vulnerability remediation and penetration test finding resolution
L2/L3 production support, incident investigation, log analysis and root cause resolution
Test strategy, test planning, estimation and full test lifecycle management
SIT, UAT, regression, integration, API, performance, security and compatibility testing
Test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or Appium

SQL for test data preparation, database validation and defect investigation

AI-assisted coding and code review using tools such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent, with sound engineering judgement and secure coding discipline
Test case generation and optimisation using LLM-assisted tools to expand coverage from requirements, user stories and existing test suites
Defect prediction and root cause analysis using historical defect patterns, code change impact and AI-assisted triage insights
Synthetic test data generation to support realistic, privacy-safe and market-representative testing without exposing production data
Self-healing automation concepts to reduce maintenance effort when UI or API changes occur
AI-assisted quality dashboards and natural language reporting to communicate release readiness to technical and non-technical stakeholders
