JOB DESCRIPTION

Company: Proposal.biz — AI-powered proposal creation platform Location: [On-site Preferred] | Type: Full-time.

About Us

Proposal.biz is an early-stage AI based B2B SaaS platform that helps businesses create, manage, and send professional documents & proposals — replacing painful workflows in Google Docs and Word. Our product is feature-competitive with (and ahead of) established players like Proposify, PandaDoc, and Qwilr. We've recently landed our first paying customers, including strong interest from global enterprises, and our organic traffic is growing 15–20% week over week.

The gap is not the product — it's distribution. We're looking for the person who closes that gap.

The Role

You'll be our first senior marketing hire, owning demand generation end-to-end for a zero-to-one SaaS product. You'll sit on top of a young, fast-moving execution team (4 members, each owning specific channels), work alongside founders who are deeply involved in GTM, and turn early signals into a repeatable, scalable acquisition engine.

This is an IC-heavy leadership role : you'll execute hands-on and direct the team.

What You'll Own

Demand Generation (primary focus)

  • Build and scale outbound motion: LinkedIn, cold email, community-led, Reddit/Twitter — with realistic expectations of channel math and effort-vs-yield
  • Improve email outreach beyond deliverability wins (open rates are at ~60%; reply rates and booked calls are the problem to solve)
  • Identify the one channel that consistently delivers paying customers — then double down

Performance & Paid

  • Plan and run paid campaigns (Google Ads, social) — including CPC, costing, and channel economics

Content & SEO

  • Direct our content engine (4–5 mid-funnel articles/week, growing fast) toward bottom-of-funnel conversion
  • Invest in AIO/LLM-driven discovery (we already see organic traffic from ChatGPT and similar sources)

PLG & Funnel

  • Partner with product on our guest-flow experience (try-before-signup), analyze funnel drop-offs, and reduce friction from visit → trial → paid

Team Leadership

  • Provide execution-level oversight and channel direction to two junior GTM team members, keeping speed of distribution matched to our speed of product shipping

Who You Are

  • 5–8 years in B2B SaaS marketing , with real zero-to-one experience at an early-stage startup — you've taken a product from no pipeline to repeatable acquisition
  • Generalist across demand gen, SEO, performance marketing, social, and content — deep in at least two, conversant in all
  • Execution-first : comfortable writing the email sequence, launching the campaign, and analyzing the funnel yourself — not just building decks and strategies
  • Strong product sense — you can understand a technical SaaS product and translate it into positioning & communication that converts
  • Bonus: experience with proposal/document/sales-enablement software (Proposify, PandaDoc, Qwilr, Better Proposals, etc.)

What You'll Own1. GTM Strategy & Leadership

  • Take ownership of the existing GTM motion (outbound, content, organic, website) and turn scattered activity into a coherent, outcome-driven strategy
  • Set priorities, targets, and cadence for the team; run regular reviews of what's working and what isn't
  • Direct and coach a small team covering product growth, marketing, outbound, GTM engineering, and content — reviewing their work closely and raising the bar on execution quality
  • Decide what to keep doing, what to kill, and what new channel or motion is worth testing next

2. Outbound (LinkedIn + Cold Email)

  • Own outcomes for the existing LinkedIn and cold email (Instantly.ai) outbound motion — reply rates, positive replies, meetings booked, pipeline generated
  • Personally review sequences, messaging, and targeting; don't just approve — rewrite and rework until it's genuinely sharp
  • Run structured A/B tests on subject lines, copy, sequencing, and targeting, and track results rigorously

3. Content Marketing & Organic

  • Own outcomes for the blog and organic search motion — traffic is already healthy; your job is converting that into pipeline and improving what's underperforming
  • Set the content strategy and calendar direction; review drafts for quality, positioning, and SEO before they ship
  • Identify content gaps (competitor comparisons, use-case pages, bottom-of-funnel content) the current motion is missing

4. Product-Led Growth

  • Own the self-serve signup → activation → conversion funnel
  • Define activation events and PQLs; work with the team on in-app onboarding and upgrade triggers
  • Run experiments to lift trial-to-paid conversion, and hold the team accountable to funnel metrics, not vanity metrics

5. Website & Conversion

  • Own the website's outcomes — direction, structure, ongoing CRO — even where you're briefing others to execute
  • Run continuous A/B tests on landing pages, CTAs, and lead-capture flow

6. Client Relationships

  • Manage relationships with key clients and prospects through the funnel — from first outbound touch to demo to close, and into early post-sale relationship health
  • Represent Proposal.biz directly in conversations that matter — this role isn't purely internal-facing

7. Analytics & Reporting

  • Set the standard for how the team measures success: GA4, PostHog, and Search Console should feed one clear picture of funnel performance
  • Review team-generated reports critically rather than taking numbers at face value
  • Report monthly to the founder on outcomes, not activity — what moved, why, and what's next

Hiring Process

  1. Apply with a video resume using loom (any other similar tool)
  2. Show us campaigns, funnels, or growth work you've actually done (with as much data possible is fine)
  3. Practical assignment — based on a a real SaaS product
  4. Final conversation with founders

Candidates who go beyond the assignment brief — auditing the funnel, spotting positioning gaps, proposing fixes — stand out immediately. That proactive instinct is exactly what this role demands.
