We are looking for a commercially minded Head of Digital Marketing to lead our client marketing portfolio and Design Brewery’s own demand generation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can connect ABM, SEO/AEO/GEO, social media, paid acquisition, content and analytics to qualified pipeline, conversions, retention and account growth.
The role is not measured by the number of posts, campaigns or reports produced. Success means that client accounts achieve agreed outcomes, performance is measured credibly, risks are corrected early, and the team becomes more capable and accountable.
What you will own
-
Digital marketing strategy and quarterly planning across the client portfolio.
-
Account-level targets, measurement frameworks, performance forecasts and corrective action.
-
Integrated delivery across ABM, SEO/AEO/GEO, social media, performance marketing and content.
-
Client marketing outcomes, account health, retention and expansion opportunities.
-
Design Brewery’s own marketing, founder-led distribution and marketing-sourced pipeline.
-
A team comprising a Digital Marketing Executive, Database Specialist, SEO Manager and SEO Executive, with future specialist hires as the function grows.
-
Reliable analytics, attribution, dashboarding and management reporting.
Key responsibilities
1. Portfolio strategy and performance leadership
-
Understand each client’s business model, ICP, buying journey, commercial priorities and channel maturity.
-
Convert annual objectives into account-level quarterly strategies and monthly operating plans.
-
Set one primary outcome and supporting KPIs for every client-service combination before the period begins.
-
Review account and service-line performance weekly and monthly; lead recovery plans for amber and red accounts.
-
Prioritise resources and experiments based on account value, risk, opportunity and likely business impact.
2. ABM and demand generation
-
Build target-account strategies, account tiers, buying-committee maps and multi-touch engagement programmes.
-
Guide account research, contact validation, segmentation, enrichment and database governance.
-
Develop role- and industry-specific propositions across email, LinkedIn, content, advertising and sales enablement.
-
Own qualified meetings, account progression, opportunity conversion, pipeline and cost efficiency—not outreach volume.
-
Create a closed feedback loop with client sales teams to validate meeting and lead quality.
3. SEO, AEO and GEO
-
Lead organic growth strategy covering technical SEO, on-page, content clusters, internal linking and authority building.
-
Prioritise qualified organic conversions, commercial visibility and pipeline over generic traffic growth.
-
Develop AEO/GEO programmes for answer-engine visibility and citations across a fixed, auditable prompt set.
-
Review keyword intent, content quality, technical health, commercial-page traffic and organic conversion performance.
-
Coach the SEO Manager and Executive while retaining accountability for portfolio outcomes.
4. Social media and content
-
Define the business role of social for each account: authority, demand, community, traffic or conversion.
-
Own channel strategy, content pillars, campaign narratives, distribution and experimentation.
-
Measure qualified engagement, enquiries, assisted conversions, relevant audience growth and brand demand.
-
Guide the team to improve hooks, formats, offers, CTAs and content efficiency using performance evidence.
-
Build thought leadership, case studies and proof assets that support both client and agency growth.
5. Performance marketing and conversion
-
Own campaign objectives, targeting, budget allocation, funnel design and acquisition forecasts.
-
Ensure conversion tracking, UTMs, CRM source mapping, pixels and lead-quality validation are reliable.
-
Optimise for qualified leads, CPL/CPQL, SQLs, CAC, ROAS, pipeline-to-spend and revenue as applicable.
-
Work with UX, content and design teams to improve creative and landing-page conversion.
-
Recommend budget scaling, reallocation or campaign pauses based on evidence.
6. Client leadership, retention and growth
-
Act as the senior marketing advisor in strategic reviews and quarterly business reviews.
-
Present performance transparently, explain causes, and recommend clear next actions.
-
Identify account risks early, build recovery plans and manage escalations with the Project Manager.
-
Surface evidence-backed opportunities for upsell, cross-sell and renewal.
-
Protect account scope and flag commercial or resource implications of new requests.
7. Analytics, reporting and governance
-
Establish consistent definitions, naming conventions, dashboards, data sources and attribution rules.
-
Reconcile marketing-platform, analytics, CRM and finance data; never overstate marketing influence.
-
Ensure reports communicate what happened, why, business impact, next action and dependencies.
-
Maintain MoM, QoQ, YTD and YoY views for client and portfolio performance.
-
Ensure client data, marketing claims, access and AI usage meet applicable governance standards.
8. Team and operating system
-
Set objective KPIs, ownership and capacity plans for each team member.
-
Coach direct reports, review strategic quality and address underperformance promptly.
-
Build SOPs, playbooks, quality gates and reusable workflows across all service lines.
-
Use AI and automation responsibly to improve research, personalisation, analysis and reporting.
-
Partner with the Project Manager, who verifies targets, evidence, dependencies and action closure while the Head owns marketing judgement.
9. Design Brewery growth
-
Own the agency’s digital marketing plan for priority fintech, B2B SaaS and AI-native ICPs.
-
Develop internal ABM, founder-led content, SEO/AEO/GEO and paid demand-generation programmes.
-
Track qualified inbound, meetings, opportunities, pipeline and channel efficiency.
-
Strengthen service packaging and create credible IP, benchmarks, frameworks and case studies.
What good performance looks like
Outcome area
Expected result
Client portfolio
Most accounts achieve approved primary KPIs; weak accounts have timely, evidence-based recovery plans.
Demand and pipeline
ABM, organic, social and paid activity produces ICP-fit meetings, opportunities and commercial contribution.
Client health
Strong retention, transparent communication, avoidable churn minimised and expansion opportunities identified.
Measurement
At least 95% of accounts have reliable targets, sources, evidence and attribution.
Team leadership
Clear ownership, ≥80% team KPI achievement, improved capability and limited avoidable rework.
Operating maturity
Forecasts, dashboards, SOPs and AI-enabled workflows make performance repeatable and auditable.
Required experience and capabilities
-
8–12+ years in digital marketing, growth or demand generation, including meaningful team and client leadership experience.
-
Demonstrated ownership of multi-client or multi-business portfolios across at least three of ABM, SEO, paid media, social and content.
-
Evidence of improving qualified pipeline, conversion, acquisition efficiency, retention or revenue—not only channel activity.
-
Strong command of B2B funnels, ICP definition, buying committees, lead qualification and sales–marketing handoffs.
-
Working knowledge of analytics, CRM attribution, GA4, Search Console, major ad platforms and reporting systems.
-
Ability to interpret performance, diagnose root causes, forecast results and make commercially sound recommendations.
-
Strong client advisory, presentation, negotiation and escalation-management skills.
-
Experience managing specialists and building systems, accountability and capability across a team.
-
Practical fluency with AI tools and automation, with strong judgement on quality, privacy and verification.
Preferred background
-
Agency leadership experience across Indian and international accounts.
-
Experience with fintech, B2B SaaS, enterprise technology or long B2B sales cycles.
-
Exposure to AEO/GEO measurement, marketing automation, ABM platforms and database-led outreach.
-
Experience building a marketing function, new service line or repeatable growth playbook.
Leadership traits
-
Commercially accountable and outcome-oriented.
-
Strategic, but willing to work hands-on when needed.
-
Analytical without hiding behind dashboards.
-
Direct, calm and transparent with clients and teams.
-
Comfortable challenging assumptions with evidence.
-
High ownership, pace, taste and attention to detail.
Selection process and evidence expected
Candidates should be prepared to discuss two or three accounts they personally influenced, including the baseline, target, decisions made, channel economics, attribution method, result and what they would do differently. Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a practical portfolio-diagnosis exercise using anonymised data.
Role boundaries
The Head is accountable for identifying and managing risks, but performance will be assessed against documented authority and dependencies. Client approval delays, budget constraints, missing product–market fit, weak sales follow-up, unavailable CRM data or website/product limitations should be recorded transparently rather than silently absorbed or used retrospectively as explanations.
-
To apply, share your CV, portfolio or case studies, current and expected compensation, notice period and a short note describing the strongest measurable marketing outcome you have led. Applications should demonstrate the candidate’s own contribution rather than only the wider team’s activity.
