Location

About MARS Cosmetics-
MARS Cosmetics is a fast-growing beauty brand built around a simple belief: high-quality makeup should be accessible to everyone. With a strong presence across e-commerce, quick commerce, modern trade and offline retail, MARS is entering its next phase of growth—expanding into new categories, channels, markets and business opportunities.
The Role-
We are looking for a high-ownership business builder to join the Founder’s Office and lead new initiatives and strategic growth projects.
This is not a conventional strategy or marketing role. You will work directly with the founders to identify growth opportunities, validate new ideas and convert promising opportunities into scalable businesses.
The role combines strategy, analytics and hands-on execution. You may be evaluating a new category one month, launching a channel pilot the next, and building the operating plan for a new market after that.
Key Responsibilities-
Identify new growth opportunities
-
Identify attractive opportunities across new categories, channels, customer segments, geographies and business models.
-
Study consumer behaviour, market trends, competitors and emerging beauty formats.
-
Develop clear business cases covering market potential, consumer proposition, economics, investment requirements and execution risks.
-
Prioritise opportunities based on strategic fit, commercial potential and ability to win.
Build and launch new initiatives
-
Convert selected ideas into structured pilot plans with clear objectives, timelines and success metrics.
-
Lead pilots from concept to execution, coordinating with product, marketing, sales, e-commerce, retail, supply chain and finance.
-
Test demand, pricing, assortment, positioning and channel strategy before committing significant resources.
-
Scale successful pilots into repeatable business models and close initiatives that do not demonstrate sufficient potential.
Drive strategic growth projects
-
Lead high-priority projects across D2C, marketplaces, quick commerce, offline retail, Tier II/III expansion, international markets and strategic partnerships.
-
Diagnose business problems using data and translate findings into actionable growth plans.
-
Identify opportunities to improve revenue, gross margin, contribution margin, inventory productivity and customer retention.
-
Establish operating rhythms and dashboards for strategically important initiatives.
Support founder-level decision-making
-
Prepare concise, decision-oriented analyses and recommendations for the founders.
-
Create annual plans, business reviews, market-entry strategies and investment proposals.
-
Track major company initiatives and proactively resolve execution bottlenecks.
-
Work with functional leaders while maintaining clear ownership and accountability.
Build external partnerships
-
Identify and evaluate potential channel, distribution, technology, licensing and brand partnerships.
-
Support commercial negotiations and partnership structuring.
-
Build relationships across the beauty, consumer, retail and startup ecosystems.
What Success Looks Like
During the first 12 months, the successful candidate will:
-
Build a prioritised pipeline of credible growth opportunities.
-
Launch multiple structured pilots with clearly defined economics and success criteria.
-
Scale at least one new initiative into a meaningful revenue opportunity.
-
Improve the speed and quality of founder-level decision-making.
-
Create strong cross-functional ownership around strategic initiatives.
-
Demonstrate measurable impact on revenue, profitability or business capability.
Ideal Candidate
-
Approximately 4–8 years of experience in a founder’s office, business operations, category management, growth, strategy consulting or new-business role.
-
Experience in a high-growth consumer, D2C, beauty, personal-care, retail or e-commerce company is strongly preferred.
-
Evidence of having launched or scaled a category, channel, geography, product line or new business.
-
Strong understanding of business economics, including revenue, gross margin, contribution margin, customer acquisition, inventory and working capital.
-
Comfortable moving between spreadsheets, consumer insights, business plans, partner conversations and ground-level execution.
-
Strong analytical, problem-solving and project-management capabilities.
-
Clear written and verbal communication, with an ability to simplify complex decisions.
-
High ownership, pace, curiosity and comfort with ambiguity.
-
Able to influence senior stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
-
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA from a leading institution is preferred but not essential.
The Person We Are Looking For
You are likely to thrive in this role if you:
-
Think like an entrepreneur and execute like an operator.
-
Enjoy building from a blank sheet rather than managing only established processes.
-
Ask difficult commercial questions before recommending investment.
-
Are willing to test ideas quickly, learn from the market and change direction when needed.
-
Care about profitable, sustainable growth—not vanity metrics.
-
Can zoom out to understand strategy and zoom in to solve execution details.
-
Want your work to have a visible and measurable impact on the company.
Why Join MARS?
-
Work directly with the founders on the company’s most important growth opportunities.
-
Build new businesses and capabilities within one of India’s fast-growing beauty brands.
-
Gain exposure across product, brand, commerce, retail, supply chain and international expansion.
-
Take meaningful ownership without layers of bureaucracy.
