JOB DESCRIPTION
About the Role
StratGo Media is looking for a seasoned copywriter who understands that good copy is not simply about clever words.
It is about understanding what the audience is thinking, what they are feeling, what is stopping them from taking action, and what will finally make them say, “This is exactly what I need.”
We need someone who can think beyond templates, predictable hooks, and surface-level captions. Someone who understands audience psychology, brand positioning, consumer behaviour, and the difference between copy that sounds good and copy that actually performs.
From scroll-stopping social media hooks to landing pages, advertisements, campaign concepts, scripts, emails, and brand communication, your words should have a clear purpose:
Capture attention. Build interest. Create trust. Drive action.
What You Will Work On:
Strategic Copywriting
• Write high-converting copy for social media, paid advertisements, websites, landing pages, email campaigns, brochures, scripts, and marketing campaigns
• Translate business objectives into clear, persuasive, and audience-focused communication
• Develop powerful hooks, headlines, calls to action, campaign messaging, and brand narratives
• Adapt your writing for different industries, audiences, platforms, and stages of the customer journey
• Ensure every piece of copy reflects the brand’s positioning, personality, and commercial goals
Audience Psychology and Research
• Understand the audience before writing for them
• Identify consumer motivations, desires, objections, pain points, and decision-making triggers
• Conduct brand, competitor, industry, and audience research to develop relevant messaging
• Write copy based on how people actually think, speak, search, and make purchasing decisions
• Use behavioural insights and performance data to improve messaging and conversions
Creative and Campaign Thinking
• Think beyond the brief and contribute original campaign ideas, concepts, and communication angles
• Find fresh ways to communicate familiar messages without making them sound repetitive or generic
• Collaborate with strategists, account managers, designers, performance marketers, and video editors
• Turn simple brand information into compelling stories and conversion-focused campaigns
• Challenge weak ideas respectfully and recommend stronger communication approaches
Copy Optimisation
• Review the performance of advertisements, campaigns, landing pages, and social content
• Identify which hooks, messages, formats, and calls to action are working
• Create multiple copy variations for testing and optimisation
• Refine copy based on audience responses, campaign data, and business outcomes
• Balance creativity with clarity, strategy, and measurable performance
What We Are Looking For
• Proven professional experience in copywriting, advertising, content strategy, or brand communication
• A strong portfolio demonstrating strategic, creative, and conversion-focused work
• Excellent understanding of audience psychology and consumer behaviour
• Experience writing across social media, paid advertisements, websites, landing pages, email campaigns, and video scripts
• The ability to switch between different industries, brand voices, and audience segments
• Strong research, conceptual thinking, storytelling, editing, and proofreading skills
• The confidence to explain the strategic reasoning behind your copy
• The ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and quality
• An understanding of performance marketing and conversion principles will be highly valued
• Familiarity with AI tools is appreciated, but original thinking, judgement, and human insight are non-negotiable
This Role Is Not for Someone Who
• Writes generic captions and simply adds trending keywords
• Depends entirely on AI-generated copy without adding strategic thought
• Believes complicated words automatically make copy sound intelligent
• Waits for every idea, hook, and direction to be provided
• Writes without understanding the audience, platform, or business objective
• Prioritises creativity while ignoring clarity, relevance, and conversion
You Will Thrive Here If You
• Constantly question whether there is a sharper way to communicate an idea
• Notice why certain words, advertisements, and campaigns influence people
• Can simplify complex information without making it boring
• Understand that every word must earn its place
• Take ownership of your work from research to final delivery
• Welcome feedback and use it to strengthen the outcome
• Bring fresh perspectives instead of repeating what every other brand is already saying
