Marketing/Specification Manager ( manufacturing)
JOB DESCRIPTION
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing and Sales, the Specification Manager will be responsible for driving product adoption within the construction and built environment sectors. You will engage key stakeholders at the concept and design stages to secure product approvals and specifications, tracking projects through the pipeline to conversion.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement: Connect with architects, consultants, developers, contractors, and regulatory authorities to get products specified and approved during early project stages.
Pipeline Management: Track active project pipelines to ensure high conversion rates from initial specification to project closure.
Market Intelligence & R&D Support: Conduct market research, identify industry trends, evaluate competitor strategies, and advise internal R&D teams on product innovation and pricing strategy.
Brand Promotion: Support marketing initiatives by participating in technical seminars, trade shows, and industry exhibitions to enhance brand visibility.
Strategic Planning: Develop strategic approaches to address market demand, counter competitive threats, and set product benchmarking standards.
Reporting & Targets: Maintain accurate project status tracking and deliver on assigned specification performance targets.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Diploma or Degree in Structural, Building, Civil, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Experience: Proven track record in product or system specification work within the construction industry.
Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of South East Asian construction practices, regulatory standards, and design compliance.
Network & Skills: Established network of architectural and consultancy contacts, paired with strong presentation, engagement, and negotiation skills.
Technical Ability: Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications.
Work Style & Mobility: Self-motivated, collaborative, possessing own vehicle, and willing to travel as required for project visits.
