JOB DESCRIPTION

Your tasks:

The Sales Director, Asia Pacific & Oceania (APO) is responsible for leading the commercial strategy, sales growth, and profitability across the APO region, including Greater China and India. The role drives sustainable revenue expansion while ensuring strong margin performance, market share growth, and customer satisfaction across the HVAC&R and Data Centre Cooling business segments.

As a key member of the regional leadership team, the Sales Director develops and executes strategic sales initiatives, builds high-performing sales organizations, strengthens key customer relationships, and identifies new market opportunities. The position provides leadership to six direct reports and works closely with Operations, Engineering, Product Management, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to deliver profitable growth.


  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement the regional sales strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives.
    • Drive long-term business development initiatives across Asia Pacific, Oceania, Greater China, and India.
    • Identify emerging market opportunities, industry trends, and competitive threats.
    • Contribute to regional business planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making as a member of the APO leadership team.
    • Establish annual sales targets and profitability objectives for all countries and business segments.
  • Revenue Growth & Profitability
    • Deliver sustainable revenue growth while maintaining healthy gross margins and operating profitability.
    • Lead commercial excellence initiatives including pricing strategy, value selling, and sales process optimization.
    • Monitor sales performance against budget and implement corrective actions where required.
    • Drive growth in key segments including:
      • Commercial HVAC&R
      • Industrial refrigeration and cooling solutions
      • Data Centre Cooling solutions
      • Aftermarket services and lifecycle support
    • Ensure effective management of sales pipelines, project opportunities, and major account strategies.
  • Sales Team Leadership
    • Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed team of six direct reports.
    • Build a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, customer engagement, and results.
    • Establish clear performance metrics and succession planning initiatives.
    • Conduct regular business reviews, performance evaluations, and talent development activities.
    • Promote collaboration across countries and business units to maximize regional opportunities.
  • Customer & Market Development
    • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers, consultants, contractors, developers, OEMs, and strategic partners.
    • Support major project negotiations and complex commercial agreements.
    • Enhance market penetration and customer retention across all regional markets.
    • Represent the company at industry associations, conferences, and customer events.
  • Data Centre Cooling Growth
    • Drive strategic growth initiatives within the rapidly expanding Data Centre Cooling sector.
    • Build relationships with hyperscale operators, colocation providers, engineering consultants, and EPC contractors.
    • Ensure the sales organization effectively captures opportunities in mission-critical cooling applications.
    • Support the introduction and commercialization of new technologies and solutions.
  • Commercial Governance
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regional regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee forecasting accuracy, CRM discipline, and sales reporting processes.
    • Partner with Finance to manage pricing, profitability analysis, and business performance metrics.
    • Support risk management and contract review processes for major projects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Service teams to deliver customer solutions.
    • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support product development and strategic planning.
    • Facilitate alignment between regional and global business objectives.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Other ad hoc duties assigned.
Your skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • A major or advanced degree in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is a strong asset, though not strictly mandatory.
  • Requires 12–15 years of relevant professional working experience, with at least 5–8 years in a general management, C-suite, or executive director-level capacity managing multi-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Corporate functions, etc.).
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English is essential.
  • Must be a strong, visionary leader with exceptional strategic planning, financial acumen, cross-functional team development, and communication, analytical, decision-making, and relationship management skills.
